Just a quick rant! Why is it that when I finally decided to sort myself out with my diabetes control, I gained weight!! I know that now my blood sugars are good I have put on more weight. It's depressing! Argh! Has anyone else gone through this and have any good tips to manage the weight gain?
(Type 1 diabetic for 18 years... Insulin pump)

what diet wise has changed since the levels were bad? any change in exercise as well?

my question is how can we be sure insulin is to blame? has all other variables remained constant?

You gained weight because you are no longer peeing out all your carbs! If you want to reduce or maintain your weight, you need to do it the right way. Cut back on the carbs, reduce your insulin to match. Exercise and reduce your insulin to match. That way you get to be slim and healthy and keep your sight, your kidneys and your limbs. Otherwise, you may be slim but you will get the complication.
