I'm sick of being treated like I'm a psyco because I feel sick an go toilet all blimmin night and have blurred vison and full ache bladder and thirsty. Just because my hba1c said I'm now 40 (which is great) but I feel like I did when I first got diagnosed an I was 56.... so instead of caring like I did a year ago were I dropped I'm now drinking my coke again full on an all other **** because why blimmin bother when your own diabetic nurse says your all good. I must be bloody dreaming my symptoms an BG 10 to 13 readings.... STUFF IT....

You are joking right? Why bother? Because it's you who is going to have to put up with the complications from uncontrolled BG's not your nurse. I stopped listening to my nurse at diagnosis when I realised I already knew more about diabetes than her. If your BG's are as high as 10 then you need to bring them down. Reducing carbs and not increasing them is a good place to start.

My dn listens to me now!

You know what to do and this forum is here to get you there!

You don't have to follow bad advice!

Follow your instincts!

Get back on board and you'll be laughing at this next week!

By listened no to the people on this board I have now lost 1.5 stone and my BG is at the worse 6.3, I'm not bragging, just trying to show you to take charge for yourself, I don't go by my DN just pay lip service and do it your way by following the low carb high fat diet, it really works, I have only been doing it for two months and I feel soooo much better. When I have lost another 1.5 stone I will then try to reintroduce carbs keeping a watch on what causes BG to rise etc etc. Please do it, it will help you not feel so depressed about having diabetes.
I never thought I could do it, but feel like I am getting somewhere now.
Do it for yourself.

Ranting is good! Lets off steam and bleeds off the frustration
(and that was a good rant :D)

But, ya know, the only person it really hurts is you, if you go off the rails.
Next time you go to an appt, it probably won't even be the same nurse you see...

Nesmex - Know how you feel - but the thing is, when you're bloods are back where they should be, you'll feel fab - the sleep will be back, you'll know what happens when you eat the stuff that messes with you BGs.

Don't forget that it's YOU who's living with this - no-one on here, not your DN or GP - You. You're the one who will get to know how this disease affects you.

Part of the treatment is a hefty lifestyle change - and it does affect you. I know where you're at, as do many here - we've all felt like that.

Now, rant over, go get some plain water and have some of that instead of FFC - and remember how fabulous you really are!

PS - Forgot to say... try bloodsugar101 the link is in Brunneria's profile, above. Its a really good site. Take a peak at the low carb training, too.

All the best

I went through the whole.why bother stage but then I realised I was only hurting myself by doing it. Its not an easy journey by far but you dont have the option of getting off at the next stop. Since getting my BS down I noticed I was starting to pee a lot again as well. It wasnt until I realised it was because I was drinking lots of water (trying to be healthy) so for me it was just a matter of what goes in has to come out. Have you had your eyesight tested lately as it could be the pressures in your eyes that are the problem. Dont give up, it is your health and it is important.

oooh, that's a really good point @4ratbags I went to the opticians this summer complaining that I was having to take my glasses off to do close work and feeling like I was getting old. It actually turned out that because I'd finally normalised my blood sugars my prescription had changed for the better and my glasses were actually too strong!

Sometimes you pee a lot if you're losing weight, as the fat cells give up water as they collapse!
