Hey jus started properly carb counting n tryin ratio of 1:10 but it worked for a few days when eating pasta now with potatos my sugar seems to be dropping more later! What carbs are fast n which are slow release ?

The carbs you mention are, in my book, fast release - even if the pasta is wholemeal pasta.

Here's something that's very slow release: rye bread.

Incidentally, I do not need to work out ratios. (I barely even understand the concept!) For I never need to work out the carbohydrate value of what I expect to eat: I never need to 'count carbs'.

Rather, I almost always take exactly the same insulin every day; and - testing my blood sugar quite a lot as I go along - I simply 'feed' that insulin.

By bedtime, the insulin I took earlier is all but exhausted. (Almost all the insulin I take is fast acting; I only take a bare minimum of slow-acting insulin.) So I sleep safely.

And each morning, I start the day perfectly anew.

Google GI value and that will give you an idea. The higher the GI, the bigger the spike. If you do wish to eat these foods, it will help if you take your insulin 10mins or so prior to eating.
