hi all could any one tell me if no added sugar is ok for type 2 diabetes i dont know what i can and cannot drink thankyou kathy :)

I am a type1 diabetic, but i drink no added drinks and haven't had a problem, so i am sure your be ok.
You can only try because as i have said before we are all different.

Hmmm, no added sugar means no extra is added but there may be a lot of natural sugar. I'm not one to get paranoid over food and drink but have cut out something from some magazine that says per 100g -15g of sugar is a lot and 5g or less is a little. That is a simple guide as far as i'm concerned simple is best! And what the hell treat yourself every now and then anyway.

Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.
Having to forswear foods I have loved all my life.
Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
Also, sugar from fruit juice for example is absorbed more quickly than from the raw fruit.

So freshly squeezed orange juice which sounds really healthy may not be good for a T2.

Bottom line is always look at the total sugar content.

Best way is to test ,we are all different even if we all have DB what raises BG in one ,is ok for someone else
