Reactive Hypoglycaemia

Lol I don't even know what 9 bars and fat bombs are. Protien bars didn't last me and breakfast bar spikes me to 11.

I read a recipe for fat bombs today Which was coconut oil and dedicated coconut with a small amount of sweetener if required and put in fridge to set then mix up some cocoa and coconut oil in a dish and pour over the set coconut bombs and refrigerate again. When done eat and enjoy! The lady suggests putting them in cake cases. X

Thanks guys I'll read up on these tomorrow. I'm shattered. Goodnight.

Sounds like you had a brilliant appointment. Really pleased for you. Do you mind me asking where consultant is based?

The hard work is clearly paying off!

Sorry boys you might want to close your ears!!

Ladies do you find your symptoms Are worse during menstruation? I've found I have had to eat a bit more
Today x
Sorry, only just catching up! I am definitely worse around that time. Feel more tired and shaky.

Really pleased you had a good appointment with your Doctor yesterday. Is Noshers consultant in your area?
I've just got back from a very cold, wet and windy school run. Felt quite shaky when I got home. Bg was 5.3. May be the cold weather afttected me and I should have had a little more for breakfast before heading out? Had a coffee with cream and a peanut protein bar since getting home (along with a change of clothes as I was soaked!), and now waiting to feel normal again. Still so much learning to do!

Hi Kaz no he's not but I'm willing to travel for the expertise hope you are feeling better. Maybe try A small apple or half a large apple if walking as a slightly quicker fix?

I just made some lovely pancakes using coconut flower and ricotta with coconut sugar one teaspoon (will see how that goes) a teaspoon of baking powder and half a teaspoon salt. Soooo light fluffy and delicious x

They sound lovely, where do you find all these recipes? Do you get the ingredients online or can you buy coconut flour and sugar etc from normal supermarkets?

I think I should have had a small apple instead of what I had. Still don't feel right and I've been picking at food all morning.

Is it possible for you to pm me with the consultants name and location please?

I'm looking forward to seeing the Kinesiologist tomorrow. I'm hoping it'll be a positive experience. I'm also booked in for my 24 ECG next Monday/Tuesday. Fingers crossed that goes ok. I'm a bit anxious about it.

The 24 hour ecg is really nothing to worry about. You don't really notice the monitor its more the results really.

I googled it and found a recipe for ricotta and milled flax seed and subbed the flour. I didn't have a glucose strip to check my sugar but I think they were a bit high carb but worth doing and checking how you react. Maybe drop the coconut sugar? I got it from
Holland and Barrett online and saved a fortune with their penny sale which they do quite often. Emma x

Fat bombs? Ain't that the stuff I feed to the birds?

Haha! I thought the same Derek! They sound yummy though
I unfortunately have the worst case of white coat syndrome ever! Anything to do with heart rate or blood pressure makes me incredibly anxious. My heart will be racing all day and they'll probably think there's something wrong when there isn't!

I need to find some time to go online and look for recipes. I wish my little one would go to bed at a reasonable time like she used to! I've just borrowed a soup recipe book from my Mother in Law. I need to find an alternative to salad for lunch. Don't fancy salad on a cold day! x

Soup wise my best yet was shallots x 3 leeks x 3 and a courgette with I pint of stock boil it up and blend. You can stick some cream in it if you want a bit of luxury xx

Omelettes always nice Kaz too
I've been having omelette muffins for breakfast, so I'm trying to avoid eggs the rest of the day. Oh how I yearn for a simple sandwich and bag of crisps for lunch!

Omelette muffins are good. I bake a batch and refrigerate them. Pop them in the microwave for a quick school morning breakfast or take them out as a snack to eat cold.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this please...
I have a soup recipe book that using one basic homemade veg stock for all the soups. The stock has parsnips, swede, carrots and other veg. Now I know that root vegetables are quite high in carbs, but in this case they're only used to flavour the stock. Would this be ok? Sorry if this is a silly question!
