Hi all,

My 5 year old daughter was diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with T1.

We've got to grips with managing her diabetes so far, but as someone that knew absolutely nothing about diabetes 6 weeks ago, I'm fully aware that I pretty much still know next to nothing.

Please could you recommend any books or link any useful online articles as I want to know everything there is to know to help my daughter.

Thanks!

Hi there @SurreyDad
welcome to the forum !:)
a great book is think like a pancreas. author is Gary Scheiner

also here is a link to the Diabetes charity JDRF https://jdrf.org.uk/about-type-1-diabetes/
they do a KIDSAC that is a great tool for helping youngsters diagnosed with Type 1.

Thanks @himtoo - we got the KIDSAC at the hospital when she was diagnosed and the 'children's' book was very useful for me!

I just saw 'think like a pancreas' recommended on another thread, so will order it!

Morning @SurreyDad

There's also a book called Type 1 Diabetes in Children, Adolescents and Young Adults by Ragnar Hanas,
