Being high cholesterol, hypertensive, and overweight, I thought I'd get a BGL test kit as they're only $40 and the purchase price is refunded, my first test in the morning after fasting(sleeping) 10hrs, reading was 6.0, next morning reading was 6.7, I'm still not sure if this level is to worry about or not, but more tests and 2 hours after a meal of steamed fish and salad, a reading of 4.7, 2 hours after a glass of my home made healthy juice 4.4, next morning after fasting, 3.9, then after breakfast and an hour long walk, 6.9, then lunch of a salad and juice, 1 hour later, 2.0. Is it normal to have such wildly fluctuating BGLs. Is 6.9 high? is 2.0 low, is my machine faulty?. Sorry for being uneducated on the subject, but that's why I'm here, thanks in advance for any replies.

Hi Rowbee,

A reading of 2.0 is very low and one that I would worry about. If you've got a reading of 6.0 and 6.7 that may indicate you are prediabetic, but as far as I know, prediabetics don't go as low as 2.0 one hour after eating a meal.... I hope someone with more knowledge can answer your questions.

In the meantime, I would keep on checking and record your findings. And read the forum. There is a lot of information here.
