Do you find that different fingers give different readings tested mine and wen I did it again got higher reading !!

Your blood is not completely homegenous @Jackie006 so variations of this nature are normal.
 
Your meter is not 100 % accurate, so it is not often that you will get the same reading twice in a row.
 
Yeh meters I find a nightmare I have had to have over 6 sent back to manufacture because of faults so I keep a reserve in now but I use my built I. One in pump so it's easy. Do you wash or use hand wipes before hand? I've found that the fingers tend to be the same when I do that
 
Hi - spooky as I was just about to ask a similar question when I saw yours. I have been testing for a week now and twice I have had very different readings when using the meter just 60 seconds apart. On the first occasion I got a reading after eating of 8.3 - literally 60 seconds later it was 6.8. Tonight the first reading was 8.7 the 2nd 7,4. Is this usual? I used the same finger for all readings. Also on the 2nd readings there was only a difference of 1.0 on the pre meal readings - can I take this to mean that what I ate tonight didn't cause a spike?

Yes it's normal. If you read the posts above, blood variations, meter innacuracies, and even depth of the puncture will affect the readings. Do not get hung up on individual readings, look for trends, eat the same meal and see how the results compare.
 
Yes, quite normal. Blood rushes round the body very quickly and glucose levels change all the time. Add that to the facts meters are only accurate to within plus or minus 15% and contamination may vary between stabs, also different strips will vary. It is more unusual to get 2 readings the same.
