Just had a call from my DN with the result of my latest blood test. My HBa1C has come down from 113 to 52 in just over 2 months. Well chuffed! Thanks to all on this forum for the support and knowledge gained!
Aww, thanks all! Well I guess a lot of it will be down to the meds - now settled on 1 SR Metformin and 3 Gliclazide a day. But, I have altered my diet too, no more sweets and cakes, halved the amount of sugar in my tea (can't seem to get below 1 sugar ), cut down the carbs, but I seem to tolerate low GI bread in small portions, same with wholewheat pasta and rice - only now and again of course. Oh, and switched to low cal tonic in my G & T!
And a lot of it is down to the information and support on this forum - the day I was diagnosed I was sent straight to hospital and was very scared and depressed, but coming here really helped me come to terms and showed me what I needed to do to tackle this, so again, many thanks to everyone here.
