Tammy,
I'm so very sorry for the tragedy you've suffered. There's not much worse in this world than the loss of a baby or child, whatever age or stage of pregnancy, and my heart goes out to you and your husband.

Stable BG control IS acheivable providing you are on the correct insulin and insulin regime for you. Some types of insulin don't suit some people, and similarly multiple injection regimes don't suit others. I found after nearly 20 years of battling control on various insulins, that animal insulin was best for me. Others on this forum have found an insulin pump best for them. There's a section on this forum dedicated to insulin pumps, which might interest you.

You must speak to your diabetes care team and see what can be done to improved your BG control. Has your doctor given you any advice as yet?

take care, and welcome to the forum

Hello Tammy.
You and your husband have been through the mill recently. I can't help as I'm T2, no insulin but there will be someone along very soon who can.

In the meantime, if you feel you could share with us what medications you're on, a typical daily diet and your average readings, that may help us point you in the right direction.

Tammy
the loss of your babies is a tragedy. As a mother and grandmother, I feel for you.
The only thing I can suggest to help you stabilise your sugars and lose weight, is to reduce the carbohydrates in your diet.
I don't know what you eat currently, but there are very few people that this approach doesn't help. It may not be easy, but you have the very best reason to try it. You will have to adjust your insulin to match your eating.
I wish you the very best of luck and some time in the next year or so, a happy healthy baby.
Hana
