Really worried about my eyes...

Poor control of diabetes has both short and long term effects. None of them are good, so take care now to avoid them later.

Hi, I hope you really take the advice of the above messages on board. They are all so right. The past is the past - so start TODAY, let it be day one of taking control and being in control. PLEASE go see your doctor about the depression, it is vital that you do, I went last week and it was really helpful. If you can't get an appointment quickly, I would urge you to tell the receptionist you are diabetic and depressed and you need an urgent appointment or telephone call with the doctor. That in itself will be an amazing result for your new day one of taking control.
I totally blame myself for my diabetes and absolutely take full responsibility for that.
If you have not done so already, please ask your surgery for the contact details for the EXPERT course (3 hours per week for 6 weeks and it is free of charge), it is a superb course and you will gain so much from the course and meeting other people with similar issues. The knowledge this course gives you adds to your 'toolkit' for coping with and taking control of your health issues. In addition, your local hospital MAY run a monthly meeting for people with diabetes (mine offers an evening meeting slot on the first Tuesday in every month) we have speakers who are all medically qualified diabetes specialists and I can't begin to tell you how helpful this is - please check it out.
Remember -you are not alone, the forum is always here and is an excellent 'ear' and support. Good luck to you and please, speak to your doctor asap. Hugs x
