So I’m on day 12 of being back on track. (Other than a sachet hot hot choc which is low carb) no refined sugar. For last few days not even fruit.
I have 10g of porridge to give me some carbs with my breakfast, a cheese roll homemade (I eat over several hours so no spike) during the day and dinner- mainly meat and veg and half a small tin beans (as example)

Over weekend felt amazing, head started to clear.

Monday, started to feel icky, yesterday well, Tasmanian devil would be fighting for title of crazy!!

Crying over nothing, crying so hard I was so dehydrated I couldn’t catch up!! Angry then crying and today started the same way!!

I’m not craving in the slightest! I’m very low mood, am a contradiction in everything, want to be left alone then get annoyed and cry that no one contacts me!!

So just some reassurance that all this mood swinging and horribleness is going to end and that it’s going to be worth it.

My sugars are levelling out btw! Not been much higher than an8 for a few days!!

@Cana Might be the low carb flu hitting you a bit, I went through that myself but keeping yourself hydrated and your salt levels up will help out a lot with that. Could be though that you're having too much carbs in one part of the day then crashing later on but I can assure you as you cut down it'll get better and especially the sugars too play a huge role in mood.

It’s it too many carbs.
The 10g of porridge in the morning isn’t making me go over 8.
The roll is spread over several hours.

So definitely no spiking. Other than my mood

Usually in T2 we're known for not coming back down in BS numbers for a long while, depending on what we eat. What do you make that roll with usually?

Strong white bread flour yeast water salt don’t think there was butter in this one.
I leave out the sugar always have.
Add the cheese before proving.
The batch made 14 rolls. So they aren’t that big and I just rip bits off as I go and not in one hit.

I’ve been diagnosed since last August so it’s not been a quick thing.

This is sustained lowest they have been. Usually they resemble a heart monitor with the spikes but seem to be all nice and steady,

I just go between wanting to kill everyone and then wanting to be with them (and then they annoy me instantly)

Oh and the bursting into tears over ridiculously ridiculous things.

Oh and today feel awful physically too. I’m drinking (had about a litre and a cup of tea since getting up) but am feeling that nasty headache dehydrated hangovery kind of nastiness!

Any possibility that you are perimenopausal? My friend was like this and her husband was lucky to get out alive!

Possibly. I’m 46.
I’ll speak to dr when I next see her.

Is there a test you can have to see if you are?

I was told by 3 gps any test in peri menopause is worthless as hormones are all over the place and can be different day to day or even more frequently. Tests only valid to confirm it’s done once it’s over. I wasn’t there for that but my age raised the question if symptoms could be down to “my age”.

Yes, there is a test you can have done, however, unless you either not (peri) menopausal, or your menopause has completed, it can be very unreliable. An Oestradiol test is often done.
