Hi
Can any one recommend a good diabetic recipe book particularly for baking using oats and almonds etc? I cant low carb but would like some alternatives to processed baked goods that do not raise bloods too much.

Maryrachel,

I can't think of any which may be suitable, but if possible, why don't you try your local library for books that may be suitable, and if you find one you could always purchase the book online from Amazon for example.

Just out of curiosity
Why can't you go low carb maryrachel?
Try looking for low GI cookbooks on-line. Amazon MUST have some

Hi,
If you google low GI recipes then you can search for oats/nut recipes on the sites.

I have The G.I. Diet Green Light Cookbook by Rick Gallop and there are some suitable recipes in that.

Thanks for all the tips

Hana - I can t low carb because I did the Bernstein diet about 6 years ago. it was great for my control and i reduced my insulin by 2/3's but I had chronic IBS and back pain (linked). I stopped the diet for 2 months and things improved then went back on it and the back problem and IBS returned.
