Recomend alternative to Metformin Hydrochloride SR please?

I have Been on Metformin Hydrochloride and Bolamyn SR Metformin Hydrochloride and both variants make me bloated, swollen, very dizzy and constant diarrhoea.

Please advise on what other alternative medication I can have as I'm genuinely losing the will to live.

Not sure how things work in the UK and whether you can ask for the original version of the drug - the original metformin has the brand name "Glucophage" and it comes in both normal and SR version. According to Dr Bernstein none of the generic verions work as well as the original patent. Maybe your GP could prescribe that and make sure the pharmacist doesn't fob you off with the cheaper generic version.
