Diet drinks - the artificial sweeteners taste vile.

Trying to find low carb meals when eating out.
I am trying to shift over to low cab high fat.
At the moment I am on low carb high protein.
As far as I can tell you need to test to check if and when you go into ketosis.
Ketostix are not reliable because they show when your kidneys are chucking out unwanted ketones.
If your body is working well at burning fats then the ketones will be metabolised and not excreted, so will not show up in the urine.

I have an Abbott Freestyle Lite meter for BG monitoring but this will not measure ketones.

Can anyone recommend a meter which will measure both (or just ketones) and which has a USB connection (or I suppose BlueTooth would do) and a diary application so I can save and annotate my readings on a PC?

I think Abbott do one but I would like to consider alternatives.

Cheap test strips would also be attractive.

I use the Abbott Freestyle Optium Neo.

It has USB and there is Abbott software for it but I'm mac based so can't comment on that side of it.

I use a Glucomen LX meter for ketone testing. It also tests blood glucose, but I prefer using my iBG Star and my phone for that.

I have the optimum neo, I'm mac based but do have a endows laptop and the software is ok

It also works with the sidiary software which I prefer

I have a GlucoMen LX Plus that I use for blood ketone testing, they sent it free of charge through the post.
