Recovering from tummy bug - suggestions on eating?

Hi all,

wondered what lo carb/low GL foods you would suggest to ease back into eating after a 24 hr tummy bug?

Am thinking my usual high veg + protein&fat diet might be a bit too much at this stage, but the traditional toast and white rice is obviously out too!

(And curiously, my blood sugar has been 6.4-7.1 constantly for the last 24 hrs, so no need to worry about hypoing, atm) :happy:
 
Don't know how banana and apples would effect your BG or maybe a bovril drink.
I always get recommended the BRAT diet with stomach upsets (Banana, rice, apple sauce & toast) but obviously is high in carbs.

Thanks, but I'm afraid all of those would 'challenge' my blood sugar levels.

Not so much the apple, but I would normally bury any fruit inside a green smoothie where the veg fibre would slow down the fruit sugar absorption. Delicious, but all that veg, at the moment... Not good.

Ooh. Just re-read your post. Bovril. Now there's an idea. Salty, yummy, fortifying and low carb. Nice one!
