Had a Grand Mal 2.5 days ago (30yrs since one on this scale) - still feeling totally knackered - would be interested to hear from others as to how long it has taken them to get back to 'Feeling normal, after a GM.
I know it was triggered by extreme hypo (< 1.0) and I know why. It's the recovery time that I am concerned about - I have the feeling that it will be about 7-10 days

Sorry to hear that you experienced this. Not had seizures myself but bumping this up for you.

I've seen younger folk get up and go back to work within a few hours of a fit from idiopathic epilepsy but as one ages, time for full recovery seems longer eg octogenarians might not be right for 5-7 days. I would have thought that an 80 year old would have been back to normal within 7 days. So if not back to normal, perhaps see GP and perhaps check not going hypo in middle of night
Sorry to hear about your severe hypo - unpleasant.
best wishes

Hi @stonyb , so sorry to hear of your epileptic seizure, a Tonic-Clonic, formerly a Grand Mal, is the most dramatic and can be alarming, also it does have a longer recovery time. Are you on medication for the condition, if so, did you take your medication ?
Is this normal for you, if not, then it needs to be addressed, so you would need to get in touch with your medical team regarding your seizure, also the very low hypo.
Good luck, I hope you are feeling better and take care.
