Hi all, does anyone else have a red hot face ,seems to get worse at night it's really uncomfortable , nothing seems to help I was just wondering if it has something to do with my diabetes
 
don´t know do you have a blood pressure measurer ... some people with high blood pressure have got a very red head...
you don´t sweat do you ...?
the sweat glands can be damaged by long time high blood glucose... to some to an extend that sweat glands doesn´t work... but that is not very often..

Is this new? Have you been diagnosed with Rosacea? Agree with the reply above, you should see your doctor.
 
Thanks for replying ,my blood pressure fine , there's no sweating just burning hot and my hands n feet are freezing ?

do you excerzise regularly ? happy to hear you have a normal blood presure, thet is rather important for health

Hello Mags, I'll jump in with a few questions.

Does this happen every single evening, and does it last all evening?

When did it start, and at what time or times of the day do you take your medication?

You will be ecstatic to know I'll have more questions on the back of your responses to those I've asked.
 
Almost every night,it lasts for at least 3-4 hrs, it started about 2yrs ago I take my metformin,glicazide and dapagliflozin about 6pm and diazapam and staying about 12 midnight x
 
So, were you taking all of this medication 2 years ago? I don't think any of these meds interact negatively with the others, but like so many things that's no real assurance.

Do the symptoms vary, depending up on what you eat or drink? The reason I ask that is a friend of mine's wife noticed after he ever ate a sandwich, his face became very florid. With experimentation and testing by his Doc, it was found he is intolerant of gluten. These days he has to avoid bread, pasta, beer, cakes and anything with flour or cornflour in, which includes thickened gravies or sauces, for example.

I have heard of people having itchy limbs, but I can't recall anyone else commenting on a florid face, except when their bloods are very high. Are your day-to-day bloods in a decent place in the evenings when this happens?

Of course, I won't have read of everyone's experience It's just a thought.
 
My meds haven't charged , for about 5 years , diabetic nurse wants me to go on insulin as my blood sugar is high all the time, there's no itch just the heat in my face mostly my cheeks , it's really getting me down , been to a dermatologist and I don't have rosacea
 

Is your evening meal your main or largest meal of the day? Are you numbers more elevated around your evening meal, that at others?

To be honest, it's amazing how many things we observe on here when folks get their numbers into line a bit.

What's your BP like, at that time of the day?

Is the evening (around these episodes) more stressful than at other times of the day? I know if I get very flustered, or if I'm running stressed, my complexion can become hot and florid on my face.
 
My BP is always normal , it seems to be when my heads on the pillow in bed is the worst time, I've tried new bed clothes pillows and washing powder, nothing has made a difference,im using cooling gel pads for sports injury, every cream under the sun, a fan the size of a windmill it's not menopause related either , thanks for taking the time to reply x think I'll go back to the doctor and try to get something done
 
You haven't said what type of diet you are on? Are you using the LCHF diet?

I switched from LFHC to LCHF about a month ago. My BS was 18 at the time. Its now closer to 6-7

One of the changes I have noticed is that I spend far less time sweating and feeling like I'm sitting in a hot sun including the red face that goes with that. I used to get pink from the exertion of putting the crockery in the dishwasher!
