Does anybody find that Red Wine and T2 just don't mix even the smallest taste and I get either a migraine or fall straight asleep I find the only way to use it is cook with it don't get the pleasure of the alcohol bit obviously

I am fine with it, only have it rarely but enjoy it when I do and no side effects and doesn't seem to effect my glucose.

I also drink red wine probably 4-5 nights a week now, as I don't drink beer any more. I limit myself to 1 or 2 187ml bottles, which is a quarter or half a standard 70cl bottle. I try not to drink more because it would give me a hangover, but I'm ok with the one or two large glasses.

Drink it regularly with no issues except lowered BG.
That is interesting as I used to have a large glass of red wine most evenings with my evening meal and stopped as diabetes is a problem of the liver and pancreas. If you are finding that it helps your BG levels then I may go back to having a small glass with my evening meal. It's not all bad news!!!

I find that although wine does lower BG at the time,it raises my fasting levels.Bummer.Still drink it quite often though!
My fastings are never that good anyway, usually just in range with some over range and the odd high one; haven't been able to pin it down to anything in particular, possibly eating a bit later?

Red wine has always given me a migraine, years before I became diabetic, its a well known trigger for migraine.

White suits me fine :);)

I love red wine, it also lowers my bg, usually have a few glasses during the week, and a bottle on sat, suits me fine

Wish it would for me I really miss drinking it

Yea I've tried it with main meal sometimes with a nice cheese (on of my vices) and at lunch with a soup or sandwich or of course in a boozer but always with food but no joy within a few mins migraines start and then begin to get tired and I've been known to drop off the missus gets embarrassed

Oh dear! Ull have to find a new tipple!

Absolutely my choice at present is the bottled Swedish cider with fruit in but only in small doses in fact I've had any alcohol in seven weeks but got a few in for the festive season
