Hi

Just coming up to 6 months of active control, I decided to cut down on my drinking which though not excessive, was regular ( 1 to 2 glasses of wine most evenings ).

Like all of these things, it's very hard to make certain that something you're doing is responsible for reduced readings, but I have been getting much better readings - especially morning fasting readings.

Has anyone experienced this? ( I think I was getting slightly hedonistic with the wine - sometimes felt like the only thing I could have that wouldn't make the readings go up ), but now I'm not so sure.

Anyone else had the same?

Cheers! :?

Hi,

I'm glad you have said this as most everyone on here kept saying that when they drank wine it helped keep their levels in check with a meal, but whenever I tried it my readings always went up both with the meal and the next morning.
I thought it was just because I had a strange metabolism!

Have to say that red wine definitely reduces my blood sugar. In fact I will allow myself some extra carbs if I'm also drinking wine.
