I visited my local Diabetes Unit this morning because of a problem with ketones, and while I was there they showed me the results from a blood test I had done a couple of weeks ago. My cholesterol has reduced from 6.4 in November 2012 to 4.8. I can't believe it - all I did was change my diet slightly by eating more wheat based foods, together with a handful of blueberries and walnuts/almonds every day. I was convinced it would make no difference at all but it just goes to show. I literally haven't done anything else - not taken more exercise, not cut out eggs etc. There's hope for us yet.... :D

Although they say diet only helps reduce cholesterol by 10-20% I'm a great believer that it has a bigger role to play when it comes to cholesterol, I eat wholegrains myself everyday and like you enjoy blueberries as they are a power-house of nutrition..... particularly for eye health!!!

Anyways that's a great reduction, well done Lucie
