Which pump are you using @njd1980 ?
If you've not purchased the book already be sure to buy a copy of Pumping Insulin by John Walsh & Ruth Roberts, it's often referred to as the pumpers bible and once you read it you will see why.
it feels like being diagnosed all over again.
Thanks for that, ill have a look into that book as wellYes same here, I've been using Pump Therapy fo 10 weeks now and my basal has dropped to just under 50% to what it was when i was on injections. Having said that when my pump was,set up the basal was nearly doubled! I cannot think why and as you can imagine i had a few problems to begin with.
My Insulin to Carb ratios have also dropped considerably.
I would also like to recommend a book and in my opinion i think its more understandable than the one already mentioned but both books will work well together. it's called Think like a Pancreas by Gary Scheiner.
Regards
Martin
The one i mentioned "Think like a pancreas" is for those using insulin whether via injection or pump.yes I have recently bought the pumping Insulin book. Though on MDI at the moment. Good book and a lot to digest.
yes thanks for that, but at the moment this one is a lot to take in. I do not have a pump at the moment but is now quite likely
A lot to take in. I have been told some good news but will have to wait and see at the moment.I read the book Pumping insulin before starting on a pump and admittedly some of it didn't make sense, however once you start pumping insulin it all falls into place and you remember the parts of the book that you previously couldn't understand
