Hi I was diagnosed as type 2 about 5 years ago and have been taking
Metformin / Glicazide to control my blood sugars

Ive been advised by the diabetic nurse not to test blood sugars regularly 1 or 2 times a week

recently ive been getting quite a bit of anxiety , testing my sugars which im sure is the cause they are going up and down a bit

ive not really had any advice, to be honest the GP surgery is useless

also i seem to be getting a lot of indigestion which doesn't help the anxiety

any ideas

Thanks

Your Nurse is probably only concerned abou the cost. You won't know what is happening wiht your levels unless you test. if the practice won't allow you enough srips you might consider buying your own . If they are oo expensive you could look into geting another meter wih cheaperr srips. Anxiety won' help your bg at all.

Start testing every day before and 3 hours after meals. maybe your diet needs some tweaking. You must test to see how diffferent foods affect you if you havent ever done so.

Unfortunately many HCPs will ust keep prescribing more and sronger medication. if ou don't wan o do that look at your diet o see if here is anything you can alter there.
Always lots of help available on here!

Was this a typo, Unbeliever? Did you really mean "3 hours after", or should it read "2 hours after"?

Just checking! :D
