Regular moderate exercise log

My guess is that 14,500 steps is probably double the UK average, but you’d probably be a relative couch potato if you lived in East Africa. How’s the body mechanics today?
Useful perspective @Geoffno6 so thanks. Body mechanics work for what I put it though but methinks that is a very circular argument. However, thanks for asking

Evening all. Two rest days - one enforced due to long day of work travel and meetings yesterday and today I’m just knackered. Just over 8k steps each day. This time last week I walked a scenic 7.5 mile route home from work in the sun. Now I’m stubbornly refusing to put the heating on before November.

Set off with good intentions but didn't manage to complete what I had hoped for. Initially I did 10 mins farmers walk - only 9kgs but the 2 heaviest dumbells I have at the moment. Straight into 25 mins HITT on exercise bike actually went very well. Had an hour walk but ducked out of planned afternoon weight session - doubted I would work hard enough to make it a good session.. Think I should have eaten really. 12.4k steps in all.

Not sure about step count today as I forgot my phone on my post dinner stroll. Probably around 10k I dont think I did more or less than usual.

1hr rehab gym class - very strenuous today we were all knackered. Sadly next week is the last one as the Macmillan nurse who organises it is moving on to palliative care. She’ll be brilliant there but we will all miss her and the laughs we have on Friday.

20 mins on exercise bike tonight.

Saturday shoulders, I've missed back and leg sessions this week due to child staying, I could have gone last night but Thursdays swim had me pretty tired

Last of my one armed bandit workouts (I like calling them that ) but will keep using kettle bells for warm ups and a shoulder press, I've worked out my left wrist is the weak point, I've broken it a couple of times in my younger days and I suppose I need to work on it, it's odd as I've got a good grip with my left hand, I play a guitar and manage barre chords ok but it shakes like a dog doing its business a fair old bit when doing bottoms up kettle bell press.

A lunchtime swim tomorrow.

Just tried my first ParkRun today.
This proved that I was less fit than I thought.
I tried the walk/run strategy as I didn't want to damage anything on the first outing and I quit running a while back because of foot snd knee problems.
I think I will try to do this regularly and see if my knees and feet can cope.

I followed this with about a 15 mile bike ride so more exercise than usual.

I am now recuperating in a horizontal position. See avatar.

One disaster and a schoolboy error today. Disaster was losing my pedometer, the schoolboy error was not checking clouds and making sure I had waterproof gear before walking the dogs. 40 mins exercise bike at 7.10 ish and scaling fitbit to pedometer 14.7k steps.

Well done for running walk/run is good

Morning all. Walking football yesterday morning plus 15080 steps (pedometer in locker during footie to avoid double counting).

Having a rest today as my long working week caught up with me yesterday - totally shattered.

When you try your best and you don't succeed .... 30 mins rowing, 30 mins exercise bike, 1 hr walk - 13k steps overall Hopefully new pot of strips giving odd bg levels because I don't want to be working too much harder

15 mins exercise bike before breakfast. 30 min brisk walk after lunch and 75 min yoga class tonight.
Think I’ve pulled a muscle or something in my left groin it made some of the positions impossible. It’s where I have an artificial femoral artery and all the nerves and muscles were cut during pelvic surgery last year, so that side is a bit weaker now. Hope it sorts itself out soon.

That sounds painful and needing care.

Take care.

Park run and a walk gave 24k steps Saturday though the park run was hard work, over 31 minutes for the 5km. A trip to Portsmouth on Sunday and a boozy night on Spitbank Fort with Mrs No6 gave 9000 steps. Monday a mile run round and round the roof of the fort then back to the mainland for nice sunny walk around old Portsmouth and a respectable 16,000 steps by bedtime. Back to work in chilly murky Kent today and a cataract pre op (hopefully) check at 1.30

Deadlifts last night and I was working on my opening lift so 180kg 5x2 (it was supposed to be 175kg but I can't count) and I ended up doing six sets! felt ok better than the last few weeks any way.

Take care everyone.
