All the best with your recovery, @scouse13 . Keep us posted!
Bit of an oopsie at the gym today - legs just weren't working and suddenly I overheated and felt rubbish, so I stopped, cursing myself for being rubbish at exercise.... until I then discovered I was 3.3mmol/l. I continued to drop.
Crashed so quickly that I ended up leaving the car there and asked my husband to collect me. I mean, I would've felt fine eventually, and obviously I would have needed to be 'five to drive' but that's the lowest I've been for ages and it hit me like a tonne of bricks, so the post-hypo pre-driving wait was more time than I wanted to be stuck at the gym's free coffee machine for.
It was a classic 'too much insulin' hypo - with hindsight I should have taken into account the overnight increase to my basal rate I had going in order to ward off that morning post-cheese-laden supper high. Was delighted to be 6.5 first thing - but of course that extra insulin was still hanging around. Grrrrrrrrr.
Still a bit 'hypover' so am doing some chores at home before heading to the workshop - ahhhhh the benefits of self-employment......
Oh, and I was way too uncoordinated to do my stretching regime without scaring the people around me - legs have re-stiffened already as a result!
Thanks @KevinPotts ! With hindsight that hypo was easy to predict - I so kicked myself for not anticipating it (not that my coordination at the time would have been up to kicking myself, of course!). Sigh - I'll learn one of these days!
God bless glucotabs and a handy husband. Shall be back at the gym on Tuesday - it hasn't put me off - not least because a local running event passed my front door this morning, and I'm desperate to do the next one (August bank holiday).
Onwards!
Not a great start - forgot to program my 50% bolus health event option with my pre-swim porridge - so have twice as much insulin on board than I needed for swimming. Glad I realised before I set off to the pool, otherwise I would have had big issues!
Very cross with myself - not only have I had a carby breakfast rather than my preferred non-exercise egg breakfast, but I don't get to swim - still, at least I got to nip back to bed with a cup of tea instead....
Ho hum.
