Regular moderate exercise log

All the best with your recovery, @scouse13 . Keep us posted!

Bit of an oopsie at the gym today - legs just weren't working and suddenly I overheated and felt rubbish, so I stopped, cursing myself for being rubbish at exercise.... until I then discovered I was 3.3mmol/l. I continued to drop.

Crashed so quickly that I ended up leaving the car there and asked my husband to collect me. I mean, I would've felt fine eventually, and obviously I would have needed to be 'five to drive' but that's the lowest I've been for ages and it hit me like a tonne of bricks, so the post-hypo pre-driving wait was more time than I wanted to be stuck at the gym's free coffee machine for.

It was a classic 'too much insulin' hypo - with hindsight I should have taken into account the overnight increase to my basal rate I had going in order to ward off that morning post-cheese-laden supper high. Was delighted to be 6.5 first thing - but of course that extra insulin was still hanging around. Grrrrrrrrr.

Still a bit 'hypover' so am doing some chores at home before heading to the workshop - ahhhhh the benefits of self-employment......

Oh, and I was way too uncoordinated to do my stretching regime without scaring the people around me - legs have re-stiffened already as a result!

I am with you on the starting out and not being overly good at things - so I walk to and from work 5 days a week about 20 mins each way, I try and take the stairs at work but sometimes the lift is just too tempting. I do a couple of dance classes a week but seem at present to sit out more than I do dance so don't know that is really doing much good. I do want to do more exercise but it is hard when working full time and running a house - so should we all count the time we clean the house????? So many things to work on - cutting the carbs, exercising, working then there is the every 3 months fasting blood tests, the doctor's appointments - sorry getting really negative here, did not mean too, feeling rather low at present.

I would quit doing housework @srobertson06 ... I do. There are just so many other things to do (work / hobbies / do lunch)

Saying that though - I am going to sign up for a month at the gym on Tuesday and get the Doc's OK on Wednesday for that .... haha

Sorry to hear you had a oop side at the gym. I hope you are ok. Don't let it put you off going again. I am sure the effort is worth it:)

Thanks @KevinPotts ! With hindsight that hypo was easy to predict - I so kicked myself for not anticipating it (not that my coordination at the time would have been up to kicking myself, of course!). Sigh - I'll learn one of these days!

God bless glucotabs and a handy husband. Shall be back at the gym on Tuesday - it hasn't put me off - not least because a local running event passed my front door this morning, and I'm desperate to do the next one (August bank holiday).

Onwards!

:)

Not a great start - forgot to program my 50% bolus health event option with my pre-swim porridge - so have twice as much insulin on board than I needed for swimming. Glad I realised before I set off to the pool, otherwise I would have had big issues!

Very cross with myself - not only have I had a carby breakfast rather than my preferred non-exercise egg breakfast, but I don't get to swim - still, at least I got to nip back to bed with a cup of tea instead....

Ho hum.

Don't let it spoil your day...just say.."oh well it happened...it's not the end of the world" then just face the day with renewed determination:)

32 lengths this morning - second time of a new 'cool down slow and long to lower post-exercise BG peak' experiment - my normal swimming rate for 27 lengths, then really slow for the last 5.

Enjoyed it, but the BG-lowering experiment didn't work - still ended up doing a temp basal rate of 150% for 3 hours and then 120% for 1 more hour afterwards. Still, my Libre line was beautifully straight as a result, so all was well.

AND THE BIG NEWS: TODAY I REGISTERED FOR PARKRUN!
Okay, so as of last week I can only do 22 minutes on a treadmill, in 3 stints with 1 min walking in between, but next week I am venturing OUTSIDE, and I'm really keen to do my first Parkrun a week on Saturday........ Treadmill tomorrow, to continue the practice.

:woot:

Hi all
2days exercise:-
1 hour 40 min in gym
Walkies home.
No 1 grandson (2.5 yrs) for two nights.
Played in garden 1100 til 1700
I'm fatigued.
It is fun.

I've been away over the weekend and been remarkably good about walking every day, but yesterday my good intentions of an evening walk were thwarted by my friends' three month old kittens deciding my lap was their lap of choice after a somewhat difficult day for us all. It would've been rude to refuse their sympathy...

Back home again now and just off for a walk once I've hung the laundry up!

I love that you delegated some exercise to those obviously very energetic kittens!
:cat:

Hope you're okay after your difficult day, @Japes .
:):(:)
