relief when BGLs finally back to normal

I've been sick with infections and migraines for past couple of months (well almost 3 I suppose). So I've had crazy sugar levels that entire time and adjusted my basal and bolus amounts several times without success.

Today I have two things to be happy about... firstly I finally got a test result saying I'm infection free, and secondly, my sugar levels today have been all under 7 for the first time in months with no hypos either.

I'm one happy lady. Diabetes is so **** frustrating to manage when everything else is going haywire.

I'm still in considerable pain at the moment, but it's my usual conditions at least and not the extras.

Thought I'd share my relief. :)

I know you've had such a hard time of late @Mep so I'm pleased your bg levels have returned to normal, long may it continue.

Congratulations, that's really fabulous news. I bet that you're feeling a lot better for being rid of the infections and having better glucose control - both bring you down and can make you feel grotty without you necessarily being able to put your finger on why or how. You just know you feel better once they're sorted.

It certainly is frustrating, my BG has been all over the place for the last 6 weeks and whilst improving with my new insulin regimen, I'm not quite there yet. I look forward to the day, hopefully soon, when my BGs will be equally good again.

Yes, I'm definitely feeling better than I was, thank you :) Although I am still faced with a hurdle in how my bladder condition is treated. The problem is I have retention with it and retention causes infection. Now my urologist has mentioned she wants to teach me to use a catheter to solve the retention..... you guessed it, using catheters puts you at high risk of infection. My GP said hmmm you have a conundrum there. Although in my mind so not funny when I'm supposed to be avoiding infections too to protect my kidneys. I see my urologist this coming week, so will see what she wants to do. I'm sick of infections and I've had about 34 weeks of antibiotics in the past 12 months.... although that includes 6 months of preventative. It does nothing to help get good BGL control.
