remember bulletproof coffee ?

I've seen bulletproof coffee mentioned on forum before, but never actually found out it was just adding butter. I saw that Tom Watson MP was saying he had added butter to his coffee in his weight loss diet.
I actually added butter to my tea yesterday, and to my coffee this morning as there are a few small containers of them in fridge in my rented flat.

I have bulletproof decaff coffee every morning, made up of coffee, coconut oil, butter and double cream. I love it.

As for taking 100 supplements and having stem cells jiggled around under general anaesthetic I will leave that where it is without comment!

Bulletproof coffee is one of my favourite drinks. I really missed having it for two months recently. I make the coffee in the usual way, then add about a tablespoon of a really good butter and a dessertspoon of medium chain triglycerides, give it a blast with the Bamix. Sheer heaven and no hunger for hours and hours. It looks like a flat white.

Edited to overcome ridiculous automatic spellcheck

Not really a fan of Dave Osprey. I’ve listened to his podcast before and he’s an interesting bloke but I think he takes things a bit too far for my own personal tastes. I’m more of a Vinnie Tortorich or Mark Sisson type of person. Osprey just seems to talk a lot of mumbo jumbo in the hope of making money from the easily impressed. That’s not to say his views and ideas aren’t valid, but that’s how he comes across to me.

I’ve put butter and/or coconut oil in my coffee on occasion and it tastes ok but but nothing mind blowing. I prefer double cream.

Dave Asprey is an interesting person- it is always interesting to see how people spend and/or create wealth through a desire to overcome a health glitch, e.g, all his diagnoses of arthritis, Aspergers, fibromyalgia, etc. The arthritis , for example, may have been greatly improved just by switching to a lowcarb diet. But all those pills.... And yet, the cold treatments seem to be supported by research, and I have emptied several bags of ice into the bath after a very strenuous day in the garden to good effect, apart from the low moans, on several occasions. Dave Asprey may be ahead of his time, and I wish him luck in getting to 2053, meanwhile I will stick with the bulletproof coffee.

I can’t see why you’d want to ruin perfectly lovely black coffee, but that’s just me...

I do however make “bulletproof marmite” - a mug of marmite and hot water with a knob of goat’s butter blitzed in. That’s a meal in a mug :)

Bullet resistant coffee here - strong coffee, butter, double cream.
Not really a coconut person.

If only I had marmite and a knob of goat’s butter to hand at the moment.:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:.
Love the purpleness of you life and even the big boots BUT sometimes you go a tad to far.:):):)

The boss: "what on earth is that you are drinking, with the disgusting blobby bits of fat on the top?" Me: coffee with cream, that's all, Oh Beloved Leader". He'd probably throw up if I made bulletproof coffee. I'll stick to double-cream and leave my stem cells alone, but I'm intrigued by @Mel dCP's bulletproof Marmite.... Might give that a go later on :)

I probably add a bit of butter or coconut oil to my soup more often than I do to my coffee, but I've not tried biulletproof Marmite either... I assume it would work for Bovril too.

Robbity

Coffee gives me high blood pressure, but I thoroughly enjoy the occasional bulletproof Bovril and LC hot chocolate. Tried the marmite, but prefer Bovril. Have also occasionally added butter to bone broth and ordinary broth to bump up the satiety quotient.

Tried bulletproof coffee once with the butter, cream and coconut oil it was absolutely horrible like drinking pure fat. Silly to try it really as I do not even like cream in coffee but people here were raving about how good it was.. yuk

I am glad I am not the only one who finds it disgusting. :yuck:

I usually take my coffee black first thing, then break fast at 11am with another coffee with cream and butter. I reserve the coconut oil as an extra treat for the weekend, as it needs a blender to emulsify. Butter just stirs in nicely, which makes it easier at work!

I could never add anything to my tea except real milk … butter in tea didn't you have an oil slick on the top
There was a 'shimmer' of butter on top. It reminded me of when I was young and often had buttered toast dipped in tea at teatime or for supper.
I think in some countries like Tibet and Nepal butter is added to tea.

I stopped mine as I wasn't losing weight. Great bgs with less insulin though. Fat slows my digestion down. Only a bonus to put a lid on severe DP. For me.
