I have two codings on my GP records
Diabetes in remission
Non diabetic hypoglycaemic
Presumably your BG is higher than normal but not in the diabetic range (I know your Hba1c is probably erroneous anyway). Does this mean you have to pay VAT?

My HbA1cs fluctuate between 40 and 43, and yes, they are erroneous.

Technically and legally speaking, most likely I should be paying VAT, as should everyone coded as in remission on their medical records.

But T2 is classed as "chronic and progressive" so in theory once diagnosed we shouldn't pay VAT on medical supplies ever? That was kind of the feedback I got from HMRC who of course dodged the issue nicely.. Ill try and dig out the e-mail.
