For any newbies who are maybe feeling a little overwhelmed I’d just like to share. I was diagnosed in May and straight away threw myself into reading everything I could, it’s a minefield out there, so much conflicting views, but thanks to this site I found safe and helpful advice and unlimited support.
I had my first check in with my diabetic team on Monday and weighed in at 11 st. Giving me a loss of 3st 7 lb and today I was told that my diabetes was in remission.
It was such a shock to be diagnosed but now I feel grateful for the wake up call and intend to keep up with the new way of life that was forced on me and have now come to enjoy. So chin up people, it can be the start of a whole new life and not the end of it and I’m looking forward to hearing how you are all doing.
Thank you to Diabetes Uk and all the fabulous members who support us newbies even when we ask silly questions and are floundering, also the delicious recipes

That's really impressive, and all down to your hard work. Your experiences will inspire so many people.

3st 7 since May! That's magnificent, but best of all is the bg
And thanks for posting, so useful to so many others
