Hiya i'm just about to start repaglinide after trying glucobay for 4 days and having the most awful side effects.
Just wanted to finded out if anyone else is on it and how they find it. Doc has told me to take it in staggered doses till i'm upto 2mg tablets x3 daily.
After the experience with glucobay i'm hoping this aint no were near as bad

Thx

Shirl

Hi Shirl.
These are the known side effects from the BNF60:

Side-effects abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation, nausea, vomiting; rarely hypoglycaemia, hypersensitivity reactions including pruritus, rashes, vasculitis, urticaria, and visual disturbances

You are not guaranteed to get them but if you had trouble tolerating the previous drug, 4 days is a very short time to try something out ? Lets hope you do better on this one. :)

Thx gulp!!
I was warned the last lot of tablets would give me very very bad wind and cramps and they did  and it wasnt nice hence why only lasting 4 days on em lolll.
Fingers crossed these are ok !!!

Sorry for the heads up......don't shoot the messenger !!! :D :(

Many who have gone on to new drugs sometimes find after a week or so things settle down. So don't be too quick to give them up........sometimes we have to 'grin and bear it' for a little while..

Lol its ok, i'm determined to give these a shot.
Tell ya what tho Metformin was nowhere near as bad effects as glucobay, wouldnt recommend em lol unless you have a spare room and can move in there until any side effects are gone lolllllll
