Hi all ive been type one since 2000, and in the last few months ive had to lower my levimer 2 units am and pm but its looking like im going to have to lower my carb ratio lower than 1:10 too and lower my correction dose from 1:3 cos I keep having hypos and its driving insane lol im back at the drs on the 20th to see if things have settled down some what and if mot to change things lol but Is it normal to change so much randomly without reason

As strange as it seems but a lot of insulin users do have to cut back slightly on their insulin once the weather warms up, come Spring time I find I have to cut back on my basal by around a unit or two and have to increase it when the weather gets colder in Autumn, this week had a couple of bg readings in the low fours 2-3 hours postprandial so need to look at my breakfast ratio again.

I've had this happen to me quite a bit the last few months, with the weather i'm having to adjust and also depending which site i'm using, legs/abdomen will also change how much insulin I give because of the absorption rates.
Hope you manage to get it sorted again soon.

Hi, I've been t1 since 2000 also, and been having many hypos lately...I would never have stopped to think it was warmer weather, but I honestly think that was what it was! I have been pumping since aug and had settled into a regime that worked for me, so was a bit nervous to go changing all the settings. Now it's cooler, hypo's disappeared!

When it warms up again I will be adjusting!

Ok so I went to the drs abd he seemed happy with me refucing my basal doses from 34am to 24 and 32pm to 22pm of levimere, im now having to knock several units of my fast acting insulin as its dropping my bloods too much to the point of having a hypo and still havin several units of insulin working, the dr just said looks like your insulin needs are lowerin lol no s*&y sherlock lol I just wanna know why =/
