Hi all :)
I've just had my latest HbA1c on the 22/07/2014 and it's 13.3 ;-( Very high!
I must admit that I've been bad with my diet, but I'm so glad I came across this form which changed my life.
I'm on Metformin 2000 mg daily.

I use to eat on high reading, which makes it worse;-( After discussing my result with the Dr.He had to refer me to the diabetes consultant.

While waiting for the consultant appointment,I start cutting out bread, pasta, potatoes and rice, biscuits etc...
I went today for my appointment and I was very scared.
The consultant looked at my diary and he could see that my numbers has improved/not great but better,so the good news he did listen to me and he could see that I'm eager to bring these numbers down. Now I have 3 months to bring my numbers down, and I'm determined to do this.
Thanks to the LCHF diet, and thank you all.
I hope with LCHF I can bring my numbers down .:)

Well done and hope you continue to make good progress:)

Good luck! With the motivation you are showing, you will succeed :D
Sometimes a high A1c can be a good thing - it can stop you in your tracks and lead you on to getting better control with all the benefits you may miss out on if following the same old ...

Thanks everyone, and I will keep you up to date with my progress.:)

I'm a little confused re the LCHF diet. I have been told to get my cholesterol down from 5 because, whilst my good is v good, my bad is too high. I've read about this diet and it seems to be using a lot of animal ie saturated fats. Surely if I went on the LCHF diet my cholesterol would increase?

Happy New Year To All!
Just had a recent update, my HBA1C came down to 10, not great but better than before. I've been given Onglyza Saxagliptin 5mg once daily.
The LCHF diffidently helped me to bring down my HBA1C 13.3 to 10.
Working in progress.

Well done Rose.
I find that seeing improvement in my numbers provides a greater incentive to make further improvements!
Keep it up.

After being on Saxagliptin for a week,I have daily headaches, fast heart rate and abdominal pain.
I am going off it and I think I was better off without it. I will carry on with LCHF diet / Metformin 2000mg. I hope that I can lower my HBA1C
Thank you xxx
