Type of diabetes
Type 2
I came back positive for early moderate background retinopathy in one eye. I have type 2 used to inject but now on metformin blood sugar up and down, how can I stop eyes from getting worse, I do try to keep b/s in range, just feel no one bothers and left to get on with it

Use this as a focus to improve your control. Better control will slow or stop the development of complications and sometimes can partly reverse them.

The following website will tell you everything you need to know about diabetic retinopathy:

As spiker quite rightly says if your diabetes isn't very well controlled then you should make any changes slowly as sudden tightening of bg control can make retinopathy much worse.

It's all in the article but getting to grips with your diabetes control will help matters as will keeping your bp low (do talk to your gp about this) and cholesterol levels too, other than that don't smoke and make sure you do some moderate exercise everyday ....but nothing too strenuous, also wherever possible make sure you eat plenty of fruit and vegetables (darker the colour the better) as this aids eye health.
