Retinopathy

Just got my first test letter results back which states "there is some bsckground retinopathy damage". HELP.

What does really mean please.

Feeling very upset at the moment.

Don't worry too much. This can correct itself . Just look after yourself

Understandably your upset but try not to worry as they will monitor your eyes very closely from here on.

Early stages of damage that "sits in the background but is not in itself a danger to vision". See: http://www.diabetesnet.com/about-di...ions/eye-complications/background-retinopathy which is a US site but seems to have quite a bit of info on it.

As others have said, you'll need to be monitored more closely - your GP should be contacted to see what safeguards are now necessary.
