Pasta, sorry to me it's vile, yeuch lol (and full of nasty carbs)
I just shelled out £329 for an X Box One for my 2 great nephews...whoa games ain't half pricey now. I remember fond times putting 10p's into the Space Invaders and Galaxian machines in the chippy after school lol. Mario World on the SNES and Zelda were old favourites as well. Any members got fond memories too ?

I have made up a sharing sack of retro games for my grandkids . Of Cup and Ball games Whip and Top, Spinning wooden tops , Marble run ect. I already play Dominoes, Pick up Sticks, Ludo ,Snakes and Ladders ect. To give them a sense of perspective.

Yeah good stuff, all practical too better than stuck in front of some games console.

Tennis machines in the pub. Think they were called PONG. Two paddles and a ball that used to bounce off the walls making some of the angles quite difficult.

GOLLIWOG..........................remember them? I had one when I was a lot younger..........about 28, couple of years ago:rolleyes:
Anyway, apparently if I remember rightly the word "Golliwog" was banned. However scouting the net it seems this info might be wrong.

Oh, Android NIM on my husband's first (self built) computer, a TRS 80; We had a tennis game later too. Most of the very early programs were typed in from BASIC scripts printed in magazines, so lots of room for software bugs and transcript errors. I actually found it much more exciting than some of the sophisticated stuff that came later...

Remember the TRS 80 well made by Tandy methinks. Used to spend hours programming.
10 PRINT "I HATE DIABETES"
20 GOTO 10

I remember gollies, both as soft toysd and as the little metal brooch ones that came in exchange for labels off the Robertsons jams.

I was certainly told that they'd been banned as racist when I tried, years ago now, to buy a pattern to sew one for a young nephew or niece (most of whom now have children of their own...)

Yes it was Tandy.

I used to take a great delight when my husband was shopping in Radio Shack to hack into their display model computer and add an endless loop or two. And I was certainly old enough to know better too, but it was fun!

Did you ever come across a KIM? I saw one built by one of our computer people at work. It was very basic - just a circuit board on a piece of plywood, so I assumed that was all you got! But he was very proud of it and was carrying it around as if it was the Crown Jewels.:)
