I self funded the libre in 2016, and it was worth every penny/cent for 8 months. Then I developed an allergy and results gradually deteriorated until I was forced to give it up. 6 months ago I bought a new sensor and though I was far less allergic the results were still hopelessly inconsistent.
Now I'm trying again and I'm 3 days into a new sensor, The good news is that the irritation is occasional and minimal. The bad news is that after 48 hours of results that were fairly consistently reading 1-2mmol/L low, today I've had results that are low by between 2 and 6, and most of last night (and much of today) has been spent at "LO". even though my lowest real reading has been about 6.
Any advice? Do I persevere and see if it improves? Ask Abbott for a new sensor?
Loss of hypo awareness is a big issue for me: I have to keep the number of hypos low or risk missing cues when my blood sugar hits 4. A working libre would allow me to run lower and still avoid hypos....
