Hi. I am Bee, and I was a member of this forum when I was first diagnose with pre-diabetes in 2008 I think it was. I managed to get my HBA1C down to what you guys call the "5% club" and since then I have been quite lax with my health. I was knocked down by a pushbike just afterwards which meant I had awful problems with my hips and back and couldn't exercise (or walk sometimes). I have had mental health issues as a result, and my carb intake (and weight) rocketed as I was comfort eating. Although a recent test has shown that I am still not into full blown diabetes, it is starting to hit home that I need to remain vigilant. So here I am again for a much needed kick up the backside. I remember this forum being absolutely invaluable back then. It was a source of information and wisdom you'd never get from a GP (well not my GP anyway, maybe yours are better.) My aim is to reduce my carb intake and do more exercise and get back on track!
