NHS give completely wrong advice.
Hi Guys
I have been a member of this forum for about three years now..
I have read a lot of the threads and added a few comments from time to time.

If you are really serious about reversing your diabetes go and buy yourself a Dr Atkins's diet book
Follow his research and what is written in his book regarding a low carb` diet and you will reverse your diabetes.

Three years ago I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, I followed the Dr. Atkins low carb eating programme
and since then, every 6 monthly Hb1Ac test that I have had has been in the normal range.

Low carb is the way to go

You will not only lose a mass of weight, not only feel a lot fitter,

Your blood glucose readings will soon become normal

You have everything to gain and nothing to lose..... Give it a go.

All the best.

Its almost exactly the same advice as in Dr Cavan's book How to Reverse your Diabetes - but I understand it only applies to Type 2s. Its almost impossible to live your life with only as few as 20g carbs a day - unless you never eat out and have a very strong will - but it does help, and your blood counts does reduce. people with type 1 who have a damaged or non-functioning pancreas are in a different situation and really need carefully calibrated doses of insulin in order to stay alive.
Fortunately the medical profession is coming round to the solution that carbs are enemy no 1, I hope it works for you and than you manage to stick rigidly with it, - please let us know how you get on.
