Hello guys!
I might use some advice here regarding carn counting... Now I don't know how many carbs my 200g of cooked rice contain but I use 8 units for those (with 2 serving spoon thing stew?!). Anyway, the stew i eat is mostly tomatoes and veggies that do not contain carbs except for few potatoes, let us say 1 unit for potatoes. Assuming that 200 grams of cooked Indian basmatti rice takes 7 units of Humalog, can someone give me an estimation of my ICB ratio? I will be seeing my diabetes nurse but not before 3 weeks or so for the carb counting session. The online ones were useless because I couldn't find the stuff I eat online and there is no label on my food. I figured out my doses for food by trial and error, I will always eat to the scale but knowing my ratio would be nice and helpful (during those cheating days)

50 gm of carbs for the rice.
Potato is about 15 percent carbs, so you'd need to calculate that from the weight - there will be carbs from the tomato and veges, but if you chose to regard them as zero it will not make that much of a difference with the heavyweights of rice and potatoes.
I can do carb counting - as I am totally diet controlled, so I am totally in the dark about what an ICB is - but there are resources online - though you need to be aware of the information from the US being the carbs including fibre, whilst the UK sites do not include the fibre. You can use the UK information as it, the US you need to deduct the fibre.
