Hi I’m type 2 insulin dependent diabetic. I wake up with blood sugars around 5 but within 10 mins they can rise to 9.4 or above. I then find it very difficult to get them down even with correction doses. Does anyone have any helpful hints
It sounds like Dawn Phenomenon? Your liver helpfully dumps glucose to help you start your day, and it will likely keep doing that until you eat something. Maybe a cube of cheese or something, maybe something you can keep on your bedside table so you cna get it in first thing, be enough to get it to stop.
Diet-controlled t2 though, so.... Careful with anything you might implement, I don't know enough about insulin. (Having had a T3c diabetic, insulin dependent cat does not qualify. )
