My husband's hba1c has risen from 52 to 59 in 15 maths. He is not overweight, he is active for a 76 yr old, he doesnt overeat, no chocolate, snacking, we are at a loss to know why. I thought porridge was good for breakfast as it keeps bs stable? Is age a factor? Ant thoughts please.

As a T1, does porridge keep you stable without injecting insulin for it, or do you need insulin for porridge?

All carbs raise blood glucose.
As a T1, you can inject for carbs, your husband can't.

Would he be interested in eating less carbs, and have something like bacon and eggs (no toast) for breakfast?
This would likely not raise his BG.
