Risk of Type 1 Diabetes in children of T1?

Hi there, my husband is an identical twin and has been a type 1 diabetic for ten years. We've been told that his twin brother is high risk but thankfully, so far, he's diabetes free.

As an aside, I've been looking for some statistics but not very successful. How many of you T1s have diabetic children? Do you have any idea how high the risk is and whether boys or girls are more at risk? We have a daughter and two sons and I'm out of my mind with worry. Almost regret having had children. Thank you all.

I had my daughter at 42 1/2 years and yes there may be more of a risk, she hasn't got diabetes, but my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter was diagnosed type 1, 6 years ago.
