Rollercoasters and proliferative retinopathy

Hi all,

I have had diabetes for 30+ years and have never let diabetes stop me doing anything. Over the last year I have had complications such as proliferative retinopathy and have had multiple laser with injections starting soon.

What is the advice about riding rollercoasters with these weak blood vessels? Been told to stop weight lifting and avoid anything that requires "holding" my breath. Hard efforts etc. But don't know if rollercoasters will be fine as am taking my kids to Disney world this year.

Anyone with experience with riding coasters with eye problems, if would be good to know.

I wish my clinic had told me about the exercise etc.

2 years into treatment for PDR with a bit of laser and injections and then 4 months without. Things were stable, I went to the gym continuing my heavy lifting for a couple of months and lots of jogging and bam... bleeds begin again needing more laser!
