Room 101 (like the TV prog)

What are you all on about? I think I lost track of the plot at some point this morning??????
 
If they went in already, at least one has escaped.

Think they stayed in, just got a clever techy with them who sneaked in a phone that works in there. Suggest chucking in more toxic stuff or something that will scramble the communication so that they are only allowed to cold call other cold callers?
 
There's a nest of cold callers still out there somewhere.
And I think they're breeding.

'Hello, chez B'
'Hello! Is that Mr B?'
'No. It's Mrs B.'
'I'm Tim from Sky. Is Mr B available?'
You can tell Tim is not endearing himself to me.
'No, he's at work.'
'Oh, well I can call back later. When does he get home?'
'There's no point really, because he won't talk to you.'
'Oh.'
Pause
'Well could I - ?'
'He will just put the phone down on you. He either dodges your calls or puts the phone down, because he doesn't want to buy anything. Probably best if you take him off your call list. That way you won't waste your time.'
'Ah. Well, right then. Sorry to have bothered you. I will take his name off.'
'Thank you. Bye'
'Bye'

So I'll get another call next week then...

If one manages to get through our very highly defended telecommunications defence system I just play up the confused, deaf, old lady persona, that I am rapidly becoming. Conversation a bit like:

"Sky? Yis, it is a bit grey and cloudy today, lovey, plays havoc with me rhuematics. Ayyyy? Telly, oh yes lovey we got a telly. Can you fix the horizontal hold over the phone? Ayyyyy? Sports? Ooohhh ayyyy lovey what? Oh no. Only watch Emmerdale Farm. Like me wireless better, but can't always hear it now. Ayyyyyy, are you still there lovey? Oh, no, you seem to have been cut off".

They don't call back
 
Parents who allow their children to ride bikes without wearing a cycle helmet.
 
People who peddle "Snake Oil" .
Whether an actual product, or half baked ideas that offer false hope.

Anyone noticed that we've got a few MIA? @satindoll @chris lowe @Mrs B @Enclave @Andrew Colvin (and many others...)

I hope no one thinks they can wimp out with the feeble excuse of family commitments and bank holiday activities

Come on - we have to fill an inter dimensional tardis-like room of infinite capacity - no slacking!

Mind you, bank hols and families may prove fertile ground for 101 entries...

@Brunneria .. What is a MIA ? Just finished fitting a new floor after the flood and wife fitted the new carpet .. Old dog very upset by all this .. So I would like to put dog diarrhoea .. (That's over the living room and hall carpet) into room 101

It's ok, you are excused. Busy with flood related activities will provide lots of lovely (or not so lovely) additions to 101 when you do return to us.

Seriously though - must be hell for you. Did you lose power? Can you still cook?

I would have suggested all air fresheners but thought that would be considered excessive.

All airfresheners. They make me wheeze. What the heck are they trying to mask anyway? If something is making a pong, remoove the something, don't add to the pong with synthetic 'meadow flowers'. Especially as the 'meadow flowers' if they were real would induce sneezing in many allergy sufferers.

Wow, thanks @SandyDee , haven't had a decent rant for a day or two. I needed that.
 
I would like to try an air freshener right now .. So please don't add them to 101 just yet ..
