Liars, cold feet, being the odd one out at outings ("can you make sure that's a diet coke").
Me and the other half are going to drive Route 66 in April and I'm a bit worried about how to cope with the home of the burger. We have been to the USA before, ( took the family to Disney Land), and I spent half my hols in a strop because they were tucking into burger and chips while I went hungry. Even the salads were a no no as covered in goo! any Americans or uk travellers that can advise me would be most welcome. Found last time that the breakfasts were about the best meals of the day. Diet only so may end up buying cheese and strawberries for 3 weeks.lol

I'll 'bump' your post up the forum in the hope that you get some replies.

I must admit I'd love to travel on Route 66 myself riding a motorbike, Billy Connolly made a programme about it a couple of years back and I thoroughly enjoyed it, anyway have a safe trip :)

You don't have to stop having the burgers, just throw away the bread and limit chips. Deli's can be good places to find food other than burgers. I'm sure you will be going through places that have large supermarkets, so you can stock up on things you can eat there.

steaks steaks and more steaks, i love american meat lol and ribs too, if you eat a little goo for a change on holiday it wont hurt, its the trip of a lifetime dont let the food spoil your fun, avoid the obvious bread and chips but a little off the wagon time wont hurt just this once, i understand if you disagree im not normally encouraging folks to fall from grace, i must be tired
