my husband has a glucose reading of 17.3 is this acceptable or not safe ? we are new to this issue need help please. my husband is 77 years old. Thanks for any help.

This is not safe! :nailbiting: Anything above 7.8 mmol/L will cause damage to nerves, organs, etc.

Certainly it's not an acceptable level, but I'm not so sure that a single high reading is going do any serious damage. However if your husband continues to have higher readings like this one, then he will definitely need to take some avoiding action to lower them.

Can you tell us more about him - e.g. is he a type 1 or type 2? Is he on insulin and/or other medication? What sort of food does he eat? This sort of information can help us give you further advice.
