I've just brought a tub of the garlic & herb Philadelphia and am really enjoying it. I've got a salmon fillet for dinner tonight and was thinking of spreading some of the Philly on top then baking it in foil. Has anyone tried this and if so what was it like?

Sounds good to me, sprinkle some ground black pepper over it too, just don't overcook it Nicola.

I'm not so sure about what the cheese might do to the overall flavour tbh. I would normally bake salmon with pesto myself.

Cheers guys. I normally shake a bit of lemon juice over it then sprinkle some peri peri seasoning on top or a chilli & lime seasoning. Think I might cut the fillet in half then just put it on one half and see what it's like

I'm sure it will taste just nice, one of the enjoyments of food is trying new ideas and experimenting:)

did you try the philly on your salmon? it's a favourite in our house...try the different flavours of philly too...my son likes the chilli one best.

No I didn't in the end try it. I ended up having something else that evening. Will try it though

My favourite salmon recipe is..
salmon on bed of (cooked) onions, wrapped in foil, lots of black pepper, baked
plus
leeks cooked in butter, to soften, then pop in an oven dish with taleggio cheese over the top, baked until melted
