I have type 2 diabetes diagnosed two months ago. I stopped taking salt three months ago because of high blood pressure. An Atkins diet book stated that because of frequent trips to the loo that taking half a teaspoonful of salt daily is a good idea to replenish the salts lost. If this is true then potassium is also low. Is it a good idea to take Lo salt - which I used to take - to balance these two essential minerals?

Not sure if it will help but I have switched to Lo salt because I retain fluid and I love salt. It may be my imagination but it seems to taste better than it did some years ago.
