Any one have sarcoidosis and diabetes ? As I'm finding it hard and tiring.
Never been so low. Can't get my levels right. Fasting around 10. Can go up to 20 in afternoon.
Also have an ESA Medical tomorrow looking forward to that.

I'm sorry your struggling.
I think ESA expect you to control your diabetes. I'm not saying they are right to predjudice about such a stressful disease to keep constantly under control.
If I was you I'd play it by ear. Most people get no points then they have to appeal.
Let me know how you get on.

Is it the diabetes that is causing your tiredness? I would be sleeping a lot on high bgs.

Hi @Bradcardiff_ I was diagnosed with sarcoidosis about 8 or 9 years ago, whilst working in Hong Kong, but I believe mine is very mild, and after a few years of reviews back in the UK with a specialist saying "no action, we'll just continue to monitor" I now no longer even review it and have never been prescribed any medication for it. Are you taking any treatment for it, like steroids ... they are renowned for raising BG. If so, could it be steroids are raising BGs, and BGs are making you tired?

Thank you for the replies.
I take no medication at the moment for Sarcoidosis.
My bp today is 160/ 106 pulse 122.
Will ring Gp for an emergancy appointment in the morning.
Also the esa isn't just for the sarcoidosis, diabetes waiting for knee surgery have been for two years.

Sorry to hear of both your conditions. My adult son has sarcoidosis, but not diabetes. He is always active, but struggles at times, he is now on the lowest rate of disability allowance, as his lung function has improved slightly, but has never claimed ESA.

Which diabetes medications are you taking?
What are doing to self manage your diabetes?
Have you any diabetes complications?
Is there anything we can do to help you with self management, such as a more suitable diet?

I use metformin 500 mg slow release four a day. Having bloods done for A1c next week.
My eyes were checked last Saturday with a local optician.
My toes on both feet are sensitive to touch as in a tingling burning feeling. Hence doctors tomorrow.
An app called MyNet Diary is the one I use for Carbs etc very good.
By the looks of it I have to find out what is coursing this by pushing my GP to looking more into it.
Thank you for being Helpful.

How many grams of carbs do you eat in a typical day?
Without other issues, it is carbs that push up blood glucose levels.

Oh the sarcoidosis is coursing problems as I have Tumours in my lungs which I can get tumours in every organ in my body. Hence I don't no if it's diabetes or sarcoidosis.

I can't help you with the sarcoidosis as I know nothing about it. (I had to look it up) but it sounds awful.

If your levels continue to be so high, I suggest you cut down on those carbs. 160 to 200g is a bit too many for the majority of us. Most of us are around 50g or less. Your meter should tell you. Do you test immediately before eating and again 2 hours after first bite? It is a good plan to do that as the rise from before to after will tell you if there were too many carbs in that meal. Give this a try and see what sort of rises you get at the 2 hour mark and let us know.

I no I have to cut down on the carbs. But been holding off. As I eat bread and one slice is 20 plus as from tomorrow I will go on a 50 g carb diet.
Thank you for your advise

Do you have a Lidl near you? They sell high protein rolls that are very low carb. (about 8g carb per roll). They are full of fibre too. Many of us here eat them and are addicted to them. They are delicious sliced in half and toasted with butter on. They also freeze well so you can bulk buy. You will find them in the fresh bread baskets. They are very dark brown and a sort of triangular shape, stuffed with seeds.

I'm enjoying protein bread more. Gone off lidl rolls.

I hope a specialist can vouch for you and your esa claim. Fingers crossed?
